They seek to build two megaports in Chiriquí and Bocas del Toro

The proposal for the creation of two megaports in the western area of ​​Panama was presented in the district of Puerto Armuelles in the province of Chiriquí.

The ports would be built in Barú and in Chiriquí Grande, in Bocas del Toro with the objective of moving containers in this region of the country. These projects would activate the region’s economy with a million-dollar investment that would generate jobs.

Julio César Martínez, who presented the projects, said that they were motivated by what the Chamber of Commerce, Apede and other organizations aligned with the government’s objectives have done.

In addition, he highlighted that it is urgent that projects like these be carried out in the western area to eliminate the overcrowding that exists in Panama and Colón, given that all the labor is developed in these provinces.

He highlighted the importance of the support of the authorities to make the projects a reality.
